Rooted in his Salvadorian heritage, Joel’s practice speaks closely to the experiences of Latino communities, particularly the untold stories of Central and South American families. His work draws from humble beginnings, personal history, and the value his family placed on education and creativity. Working across materials such as graphite, charcoal, acrylic, oil, and metal, he merges memory, scientific influence, and Latin culture to create emotionally driven, geometric, and surreal compositions.
