Joel Jebhani Vargas is a self-taught artist inspired by old and modern work. His manner of painting uses traditional techniques and modern contemporary expression. This allows him to intertwine his love for both areas of art. This love for art was incepted as a young child at 5 years of age, drawing on a leaflet strategically hidden between the pages of his embroidered bible. Childhood seclusion of the world forced him to use all his time experimenting with a 2B pencil on college ruled paper.
Joel’s lifelong work has been pushed towards dark tragic themes in which inspiration stems from moments of clarity.
